Justin Lapointe

A single thread runs through his path: to understand the human being, then to care for them.

Sociologist by training, yoga teacher, acupuncturist: this page follows the thread. What brings you in, how a visit unfolds, and the path that led him to the needle.

Open 7 days a week · Monday and Friday from 9 a.m.

Justin sees patients Thursday to Monday

Chapter 01 · You

What brings you in

Every consultation begins with a reason, and it is yours. Here are the ones that come up most often in his practice.

  • “A pain that lingers”: a sports-based approach and dry needling, working alongside physiotherapy when relevant.
  • “Difficult nights”: stress that builds up, fragile sleep; steady support, session after session.
  • “A stage in a woman’s life”: cycle, perinatal care, perimenopause, with dedicated training in gynecology.
  • “A facial treatment”: cosmetic acupuncture, a gentle approach, without injections.

Acupuncture takes its place within clinical care, with no promise of results. If your situation calls for another professional, Justin will tell you.

Chapter 02 · Together

The visit, step by step

A hand resting on a light sheet, crossed by shadows of foliage

01 · We sit down

Your story first: what brings you in, your sleep, your context. It is for this listening that the first visit lasts an hour and a half.

02 · We examine

Pulse, tongue, mobility: an unhurried examination, explained as it goes, without needless jargon.

03 · We treat, we plan

A first treatment the same day, then clear markers: suggested frequency, what we observe, when to reassess.

Chapter 03 · Him

His training as an acupuncturist

Two areas worked on continuously since the DEC: traditional Chinese medicine and the treatment of sports-related pain.

Traditional Chinese medicine

  • DEC in acupuncture, 2,200 h (Collège de Rosemont) · OAQ member
  • Meridian balancing, Dr. Tan method, levels 1 to 4 (Sonia Tan)
  • The 8 Extraordinary Vessels (classical acupuncture)
  • Gynecology, levels 1 to 3 (Rebecca Marchment)
  • Cosmetic acupuncture (M. Maranda)

Sports acupuncture & pain

  • Injuries and pain, 60 h (Whitfield Reaves, The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries)
  • Dry needling and fascia work
  • Sports acupuncture: training and running injuries
  • Working alongside physiotherapy, under the same roof

And before the needle, the path

2005
Bachelor’s degree in sociology (Université Laval). Understanding people in their context, not in isolation.
2014
Yoga and meditation (practice, then teaching, including for Cirque du Soleil artists). The body enters the equation.
2015
Master’s degree in environmental design (UQAM). How places shape well-being, right into his treatment room.

“I treat people, not symptoms. Fifteen years studying the human being have taught me to listen before acting.”
