The approach

A clear approach to the face

Our usual clinical framework, applied to the face. Further down, what Chinese medicine adds to that view.

01

In the spirit of the clinic

Listening, assessment, support. We connect facial care to your overall health.

02

A gentle method

Fine needles, on the face and the body, in a quiet moment.

03

Adapted to your face

We choose the points and the pace according to your skin and your expectations, with no standardized protocol.

Step by step

How a session unfolds

  1. Conversation & assessment

We discuss your expectations and your health, then we examine.

  2. The session

Fine needles on the face and the body; about 75 minutes, in a calm setting.

  3. Afterwards & next steps

A few pointers for what comes next, at your own pace, with no commitment to a result.

The Chinese medicine view

Reading the face

In this tradition, the whole person can be read in the face: complexion belongs to the Heart, the lips to the Spleen, the skin to the Lung, and the brightness of the gaze reflects the state of the Shen. That's why the session doesn't stop at the face; sleep, digestion and stress come into it too.

A traditional framework, not a clinical demonstration: it guides the examination and the choice of points; it promises no result. Nothing esoteric in that, and nothing magical either, only an old way of looking at a face.

What research says

The needle, collagen and the skin

As it passes through the skin, a fine needle creates a controlled micro-perforation. To explain what follows, research describes a repair response: dermal fibroblasts are called upon, collagen and elastin are produced, the proteins associated with the skin's firmness and bounce. That is the explanatory framework under study, not a guaranteed effect.

The mechanism research describes

Targeted micro-perforationRepair responseCollagen & elastin

Research on cosmetic acupuncture remains preliminary, mostly small studies. One histological study observed denser, thicker collagen fibres after facial needling sessions (Sifaki et al., Exp Ther Med, 2020 (opens in a new tab)); a pilot trial measured an improvement in facial elasticity (Yun et al., Evid Based Complement Alternat Med, 2013 (opens in a new tab)). Encouraging leads, but limited ones: they do not guarantee the same effect for every person.

Generally, yes. Slight, short-lived redness at the needle site is possible.
